I just posted something on LinkedIn that made me physically squirm.
$100K in 3 months. My own numbers. My own story.
I don’t normally share performance-based content.
It feels awkward and uncomfortable, and it makes me anxious af.
(I literally sent it to a LinkedIn bestie first to assess the cringe factor).
But if I don’t share this story, I’m doing a disservice to the exact work I teach.
And frankly, in a world full of LinkedIn “gurus” throwing around fake numbers, maybe it’s time for some real transparency.
Plus, from my own experience, when I’ve seen these types of wins, it shows me the person knows their sh*t – I don’t take it as showing off, so why would it be different for me. (I definitely don’t see the dudes holding back at all!)
Anywhos! I want to share more of the story with y’all, my trusted readers, because aside from the social proof aspect – this was actually a really tough time. And I think we need to feel brave talking about the struggles of entrepreneurship and motherhood combined – not hide it.
So here I am, sharing a very vulnerable but very real case study.
When Everything Unraveled
5 months ago, my business hit its lowest point since I first started.
Some context:
At the end of 2024 our world was flipped upside down.
Our son was born 2 months early. The NICU. The holidays. Everything went sideways from what we’d planned.
I thought I’d bounce back quickly – I’m usually the eternal optimist, always smiling, always seeing the positive.
But as weeks turned into months, I wasn’t serving new clients. I wasn’t building my pipeline. I was just… surviving.
By March, I’d stopped smiling altogether.
Pipeline? Empty.
Revenue? The lowest it had been since day one.
Confidence? Completely shattered.
And as the breadwinner, the pressure was crushing.
What I didn’t realize at the time was that I was drowning in a perfect storm of imposter syndrome and postpartum anxiety. The crazy thing? I was so aware of postpartum challenges. I’d watched friends go through it. I thought I’d recognize the signs.
But when you’re in it – when you’re questioning everything you’ve built while your hormones are raging and you can barely think straight – it’s impossible to see clearly.
The Question That Flipped the Switch.
I was spiraling during a walk with my husband and our little guy.
Completely checked out, totally freaking out about the business, listing all the ways I was failing.
That’s when he stopped me and asked the simplest question:
“How did you do it last year?”
Boom. Reality check.
I’d built my business from 0 to 6 figures in under 6 months just the year before.
This is literally what I do best. I teach this process to clients every single day.
I just… forgot.
The postpartum fog, the anxiety, the pressure – it all made me lose sight of my own playbook.
Getting Back to What Works
So I did what I tell every client to do – I went back to the fundamentals:
→ Got crystal clear on my offer and ideal client
Instead of trying to help everyone, I focused on who I serve best
→ Reconnected with my community genuinely
No pitching, no agenda – just real relationship building
→ Paid attention to LinkedIn intent signals
People tell you what they need if you’re listening
→ Hired a coach to get out of my own head
Sometimes you need someone outside the pickle jar to read the label
No gimmicks. No hacks. No complicated funnels.
Just relationships and relevance – the same approach that had always worked.
The Transformation
The last 3 months felt like watching my confidence rebuild in real time:
- $109,600 in new business
- 17 new clients
- Most importantly: I feel like myself again
Even with organic reach being “down” and everyone panicking about the algorithm, I had the best few months of my business.
Why? Because real relationships are algorithm-proof.
But here’s what I’m most proud of – I didn’t just get my business back.
I proved to myself that even in my darkest professional moment, even when postpartum anxiety had me questioning everything, the fundamentals still work.
Why This Approach Wins
This approach has consistently worked for me across every role:
As an introverted SDR, I used LinkedIn to stack sales executives’ calendars without making cold calls.
As Director of Sales at Forbes Books, we doubled company sales in my first year using these same relationship-building principles.
And now, I’ve proven it works for building my own business from scratch – even when starting from the lowest point I’ve experienced as an entrepreneur.
The fundamentals don’t change: authentic relationships beat pushy tactics every time.
In my case, I just needed to remember what I already knew and get back to basics.
But I recognize not everyone has this playbook
Most people are still stuck depending on referrals and word-of-mouth, or in the old-school, spray-and-pray methods that feel terrible and get worse results.
A client recently told me something that hit me hard: “My attorney says nobody cares about your business as much as you do – but that’s not true with you.”
That’s exactly why I’m sharing this vulnerable story, and it’s why I’m launching the REALationship Growth Method. Because I genuinely care about your success, and I want to teach you the same system that’s carried me through every stage of my career – including the hardest one.
If you’re stuck, scaling, or starting over:
→ Lead with value first
→ Build real relationships
→ Trust that consistency beats perfection every time
The ultimate test of any method?
Whether it works when you need it most.
Mine passed.
Until next time,
Natasha
P.S. If the REALationship Growth Method sounds like what you need, reply, “LFG” and let’s talk. I’m launching 2 tiers – full program (group + 1:1) and just group.
